What to expecT

At each meeting everyone benefits from hearing about the experiences, challenges, and successes of both groups during a combined session.

The meeting then splits into two separate groups:

  • People diagnosed with mental illness

  • Family and Friends

This format provides everyone with a confidential, safe environment in which to discuss the difficult issues they face and develop ways to cope with them.

Regular attendance at these meetings is about 25 people.

Additionally, The Care Connection occasionally sponsors speakers to present topics that will benefit the members. These presentations cover a wide variety of topics from the stigma associated with mental illness to the types of therapy available.
